What are the main points in Ration Card New Rules
Please be informed that under the recent changes in rules for ration cards, only approved families are provided with free ration while others will afford it for a minimal amount. It is important to note here that the government has assigned economic parameters for providing free ration based on which it will be determined who will get free rations.
Under new rules for the ration card, ration cards belonging to such individuals, wherein all the family members’ Aadhar numbers are not connected to the ration card will automatically be void. Right now, the government has given a time extension for ration card-holders to link their ration cards with Aadhar cards, and those who have delayed linking the two must hurry to avoid cancellation of their ration card.
Under the new rule, the government would do verification of ration holders from time to time. If the girls are married and their parents are taking their ration, then the government will remove the name of those girls from the ration card.
