500 Rupee Notes: I know that, after demonetization in November 2016, new notes of 500 and 2000 rupees were issued by the Government of India and the RBI. Following this, new notes of 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 were issued in India. But, let us tell you that now the frauds have increased just too much with the fake currencies of rupees 500. This is the reason; the RBI has recently come up with the recent guideline regarding the 500-rupee notes.
All you know that on 8 November 2016, they discontinued the previous ones of 1000 and 500 notes, mainly due to the huge business of fake ones going throughout the country. Hence, these notes, coined by the Central Government and the Reserve Bank of India, were discontinued on the earlier-noted notes. Now, fake 500 business has emerged in India again, and in view of this, the Reserve Bank of India has issued a guideline recently; it is worth your attention.
RBI issued new guidelines
It is for your information that sometimes fake notes are also dispensed by ATMs. This is why RBI has come with a new guideline which is applicable to all; otherwise, one is likely to be cheated too. The guideline states that new 500 notes have the signature of the RBI governor, the picture of the Red Fort is printed on the back, and as the base color, the notes have stone gray. There are many other designs and patterns in the note. As per the information from RBI, it is being said that the size of the note is 63 * 150mm.
How to identify real notes?
The newly convened RBI norms say that the number ‘500’ on a real 500 note is translucent. Also, Devanagari script has been in use on the 500-rupee note. The image of Mahatma Gandhi is printed right across the note. If you fold a 500-rupee note, you will read Bharat and RBI written in Devanagari Hindi.
