The Cabinet of the central government has already proposed increasing the dearness allowance (DA) for the employees in the month of October itself, but it has been rejected. According to the latest news, an increase of 3% in the dearness allowance and dearness relief of employees has been approved in the cabinet meeting held yesterday. DA Hike Update
For quite some months past, it was something that all central employees were demanding-an increase in dearness allowance, and now that their demand has been heard, the government has recently announced the increase in dearness relief by adding it to the dearness allowance. The moment this news leaves the lips, it sure would be greeted with joy by all central employees. While citing the clamimor of inflation, it has justified the rise in dearness allowance.
3% increase in DA of government employees
All government employees are given the dearness allowance (DA), and an individual is provided dearness relief (DR) according to the age of retirement. As you all must be aware, DA and DR are increased twice a year. Now, as DA is currently at 50%, with the announcement of an increase in the DA of the government employee, now employees will receive a 3% hike in their DAs from the new year. The dearness allowance now becomes 53%.
Just so you know, dearness allowance is dependent on income bracket salary. If your salary is 20 thousand rupees, then with a 3% DA increase in it, your salary will increase by 600 rupees. Because of which, it becomes Rs 20,600.
