As a matter of fact, for your knowledge, it would be good to mention that there are a lot of such companies in India where work continues for 5 days and there are 2 holidays. Because of this, bank employees were demanding it for a long time: ‘bank should be open for 5 days’. Currently, this is a big momentous news, and let’s find out more.
What are the demands of the employees?
Since 2015, banking employees have been making demands that the bank should be 5-days open. This was seen a few years back when the Central Government and the Reserve Bank decided on second and fourth Saturday as closed days for banks. This led to demands by the employees to close the bank on all four Saturdays of the month. As a result, the bank will then be open for only 5 days and have two days leaves for employees.
When will this new rule be implemented?
Till date, no decision has been taken by the Central Government and the Reserve Bank of India on the demand of the bank employees. But some media reports and experts say that it may be very early to see these new rules implemented at the very first days of the new year. For your information, the bank unions are constantly demanding that the bank should remain open only for 5 days. The government is said to be soon coming out with a decision in favor of the employees.
